How We Work

OUR PROCESS

  1. CONSULTATION: All of our services (except Gut Checks) begin with a free 30-minute video consult to discuss our process, and your needs. Depending on which service(s) you’ve selected, we’ll then share three intake forms via Google to get to know you + your preferences even better. If you live in the Portland Metro, we can schedule a 1-hour walk through of your space to do the intake in person, if you prefer.

  2. INTERIOR ROADMAP: Creating an Interior Roadmap is the first step of our intake, and the best way to ensure everyone involved is on the same page. Whether we're working on a bedroom, living room, office, kitchen, or bathroom—we can return to our roadmap at any point throughout the project to ensure we’re communicating well, and that all of our selections align with your goals for each space, and how you intend to use them.

  3. COLOR PREFERENCES: Color perception isn't universal. Every person sees and interprets colors in unique ways, and has different cultural and emotional responses to certain hues. We’ve developed a questionnaire to help us create color schemes and palettes that resonate with your personal story and preferences.

  4. IMAGES + INSPIRATION: Having clear images of the space(s) we're working on together is an essential reference tool for our process. Seeing what kinds of architecture, furnishings, decor, art, fashion, and design inspires you will also help us better understand your personal style and preferences when it comes to the application of color. You’ll be asked to provide photos of the space(s) we’ll be working on together, and to create a Pinterest board of inspirational spaces, furniture, and decor for each room.

  5. DESIGN SERVICES: Depending on the service(s) you’ve selected, we’ll then create a custom color scheme and sample palette for you, select paint and/or wallpaper, or even furnishings, decor, and artwork.

  6. COLOR TOOLKIT: With most services you’ll receive a toolkit that includes sourcing info, and guidance on testing colors in your space + which finishes to use (if selecting paint). With our Color Scheme + Palette Development service you’ll also receive 1 mood board for each room, and with our Interior Decoration service you’ll receive 1 mood board and 1 Pinterest board per room to help you better envision how the changes will look in your space + easily source our recommendations for materials, furnishings, and decor.

  7. GUT CHECK: Just looking for a second set of skilled eyes? We also offer a 30 + 60-min virtual Gut Check* service, where Brandi will evaluate your own color selections (for materials, finishes, decor, etc.) and make recommendations in real-time using her expertise in color theory and interior decoration.

*This service does not include recommendations, selections, shopping assistance, sourcing, or mood boards outside of our time spent in consultation—whether via video, phone, email, or text.

“I wanted something bold, and not cookie cutter, and Brandi over delivered. But most importantly, she took her time and really made me feel like we could do something special, pushing boundaries. That's what you want a designer to do.”
